Sophie-Alize is a magnificently earthy dancer. In Australia Sophie-Alize has trained with Leonie Sulkan and Ruth Jost at The Middle Eastern Dance Centre, Amera at Amera’s Palace and Jrisi Jusakos at Hathor Dance Studio, as well as taking workshops with Teachers from all over Australia. In 2006 Sophie Alize traveled to Egypt to train with master teachers Raqia Hassan, Yasmina of Cairo, Randa Kamel, Aida Nour and Sarah Farouk.
Sophie-Alize has taught at some of the most prestigious bellydance schools in Sydney over the past five years, including the acclaimed Amera’s Palace. She is now creator, principal and choreographer of Shine Bondi Bellydance Academy, Bondi Beach.
Sophie-Alize's dance style is a healthy and impressive fusion of Turkish and Egyptian style dance vocabulary. This style is further accented by her jaw-dropping sword work and bewildering use of Isis wings.In both 2009 and 2010 Sophie-Alize was both the creator and Star of the Arabic Nights at Bondi Icebergs, a sensational belly dance evening, the first of its kind in Bondi, at the prestigious Bondi Icebergs, Bondi Beach. She also guest starred in the Opening Ceremony at the 2009 Sydney Master Games, Homebush Olympic Park, with Hathor Dance Studio, and was the leading lady in ‘JAMIL- the Evolution of Belly Dance from a Males Perspective’ concert at the Seymour Centre 2009.
